Research / Development

Focusing on themes surrounding the natural environment, we began working as two groups, one interested in creating a series of mushrooms which would react to touch and change the soundscape around the viewers, and the other a tree stump which would could be interacted with in multiple ways to generate sound.

Below are a collection of sketches prototyping our ideas and thoughts through these two connected projects.

Puredata & Arduino

To make our reactive sculptures we made use of Arduinos (microcontrollers) and puredata (a visual coding language for making sound). Below we have provided the code used in the project for anyone to download and remix.
